Bollywood Bubble

Entertainment news portal covering Bollywood and Indian cinema.

Bollywood Bubble website

Bollywood Bubble operates at the intersection of breaking news and lifestyle content—two audiences with vastly different consumption patterns and expectations. The entertainment news portal needed to move beyond template publishing to a purpose-built platform that could handle editorial complexity, from coordinating breaking stories with video embeds to cataloguing vast archives of interviews and reviews in a way that readers could actually discover.

The challenge

Entertainment news portals sit at the intersection of speed and structure. Bollywood Bubble was managing multiple content types—news articles, interviews, video features, box office analysis, fashion coverage—but the underlying publishing platform wasn’t designed for editorial workflows that mix breaking stories with curated features. Content structure was loose, which meant writers and editors spent time on organisation rather than curation. The platform also struggled with the performance expectations of a high-traffic news site: every decision—from how content was categorised to how media was served—directly affected reader experience during peak traffic.

What we built

We designed a publishing platform centred on flexible content models and editorial workflows. Rather than forcing all content into a single “post” template, we created distinct structures for news, reviews, interviews, and features, each optimised for how readers consume that content type. The editorial team gained clearer workflows: assignments, scheduling, and review stages became explicit. We structured the content taxonomy to support both navigation (browsing by category, talent, film) and editorial consistency.

Performance was architected in from the start. Media handling was centralised with intelligent resizing and delivery, keeping the front-end snappy during traffic spikes. We implemented caching strategies tailored to the news cycle—breaking stories refresh immediately, whilst evergreen features and reviews stay cached longer.

The result

The platform reduced editorial overhead whilst expanding what the team could publish. Writers stopped wrestling with the CMS and started focusing on story quality. The content architecture meant that related stories—interviews with an actor, reviews of their films, fashion retrospectives—surfaced naturally without manual linking. Readers found more of what they came for, and the site stayed responsive even during major film releases or award season traffic surges. The same structure turns the archive into an asset rather than dead weight: older interviews and reviews stay discoverable and keep earning search traffic long after the news cycle has moved on.
